Going Home

Location: Rome -> Maryland

Today was the last day of our trip and in a good way, not much happened. We woke up very early to eat breakfast and disembark from the ship. We got a transfer to the airport and waited a few hours to board the plane.

Normally United Airlines likes to make our trip home from our mega-trips extra interesting by delaying us and sending us home on a different route. This time was different though, this time we were only a couple of hours late.

We breezed through customs and immigration. Leigh was able to pack all of our many bags easily in the trunk and drove us back to our homes.

We were pretty tired so we only unpacked the essentials: medicines, toiletries, electronics and souvenir magnets.

I think we need a bigger refridgerator.

Despite the exhaustion, Ryan still managed the energy to update our “where we’ve been” wall map.

That wraps up our Awesome Mediterranean Odyssey. In a few days we’ll write a wrap-up blog post highlighting some interesting facts from the trip, similar to what we did for the honeymoon and Antarctic trips.

Total Steps: 7,391

Total times today Ryan said he was eager to get back to country that knew how to form and wait in lines: 7
