The Millennium

We said goodbye to Oahu and said hello to our home for 20 days… the Celebrity Millennium!

Note to anyone going on a cruise out of Honolulu: There are no porters at the cruise terminal. We had to wait over an hour in line just to check our luggage. Then to the usual lines to get on the ship. It was unexpected and frustrating.

Once on board, we found our room and dropped of our carry on bags (and enjoyed a mimosa we got when we boarded). Then we went to lunch at the Oceanview Cafe. As always, the food is very good.

We explored the ship and then got ready for dinner. Because we are in an ‘Aqua Class’ room, we get to eat in a special dining room… and it was quite good.

After dinner, we went to the welcome show. The cruise director did the usual introductions and asked people to tell if they were celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, honeymoons, etc. We were told there are 3 honeymooning couples on the ship. That ended our first day on the ship. Off to Hilo to climb Kilauea tomorrow!

One more thing to add… we we are half the median age on the ship. Lots of gray hair and walkers.

Word drop – 3 (counting the welcome show)
